Sales FAQs:

Does UNCS own the product that it sells or is it brokered?

UNCS takes possession of all products that are sold under its name.  The products are processed in UNCS-approved warehouses.  Goods may be presold, but most products are inventoried.  This ensures that all products sold by UNCS have been inspected and retail customers know that the products purchased from UNCS meet their expectations.

Is UNCS a diverter?

No, UNCS does not divert product.  Employees respect the restrictions placed on goods and if export is required, the UNCS team will provide needed documentation to show export.

Who are the UNCS customers?

Any retailer, etailer, or wholesaler looking for product is an ideal customer for UNCS.  Currently, UNCS is a vendor to retailers such as Dollar Tree, Bed Bath & Beyond, TJ Maxx, etc.  UNCS also works with the smaller chain, “Mom and Pop” stores.

What kind of product does UNCS sell?

The cliché response would be to say anything that can be found at a Walmart or Target is sold here.  This means that UNCS is capable of sourcing just about any product for any customer.

What is the lead time for product?

UNCS typically works on a 14 day window between the receipt of the purchase order and the start of the ship window.  Often orders can be prepared in a shorter period of time when customers need it, this is heavily dependent upon the order complexity.  This time period is used to ensure that the order will be prepared per the customer’s routing guide and requirements.

Does UNCS work with continuity programs?

Yes!  UNCS has several products that can be purchased on a recurring basis.  Several customers have a regular monthly purchase program to ensure the product stays current on the shelves.  Contact your UNCS salesperson to develop this program.


Logistics FAQs:

Can UNCS repack or price sticker?

Yes, UNCS can take cases and put them into new case packs or price sticker individual units to meet the needs or specifications of customers.  These details are discussed with the Sales rep and then passed to Logistics.

Where is the UNCS warehouse?

In order to have ease of delivery for vendors and customers, UNCS maintains a network of warehouses throughout the 48 states.  Check the Logistics Page for more information.

Does UNCS own trucks?

No, UNCS Logistics works with a team of freight brokers and carriers to ensure the most cost effective rates without the overhead of owning trucks.

What EDI capabilities does UNCS have?

UNCS trades 850, 810, 856, and 997.  Their EDI provider is SPS Commerce.


Finance FAQ:

What type of insurance does UNCS carry?

UNCS carries a $4 million dollar policy.  Customers are also insured to minimize risk.  UNCS likes to live by a policy of “No grey area” and therefore insures receivables and product.


Ops FAQ:

Where is your office located?

UNCS is headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Fl.  Two satellite locations currently exist in Minnetonka, MN and Chicago, IL.


Purchasing FAQ:

Do you sell product in your retail store?

No, currently UNCS does not operate in the retail market.  UNCS moves products to retailers, other wholesalers, or exporters.

What kind of product does UNCS buy?

UNCS is interested in any product that can be found at a mass merchandiser.  Key categories include automotive, back to school, toys, books, electronics, etc.

Do you honor restrictions?

Yes, UNCS will happily abide by any restrictions that are communicated to the buyer.  This information must be presented when the product is shown to the buyer.

What information do you need regarding a product offering?

UNCS buyers need the UPC, Case Pack, Available Quantity, Price (and a take-all price), country of origin.  Once an offer is placed to purchase the product additional information is needed including cases per pallet, case dimensions, weight, etc.
